Test Project: Fireproof Baffle

Test Setup:
- 2 identical staircases (hard plywood board, 25mm/1”)
- Each staircase has 9 steps
- Each step is 17cm/6’7” high and 35cm/13’8” deep
- The staircase is 1.23m/48.4 wide
- One of the staircase is protected with akuSta-Plast Fire Stop (only bottom is covered), One is unprotected
- The temperature is measured using a thermometer located on top of the 4th step

底部:聚苯乙烯
结果:
亚库斯达Akusta 防火材料将温度从 1,200°C 降低至 200°C。
聚苯乙烯的燃点较低,但因 akuSta-Plast Fire Stop 的保护,温度保持在燃点以下。

顶部:硬胶合板(20 毫米 / 0.8 英寸)
中间:由 亚库斯达Akusta 防火板(2.5 毫米 / 0.08 英寸)保护的硬胶合板(20 毫米 / 0.8 英寸)
底部:硬胶合板(20 毫米 / 0.8 英寸)
结果:
未保护的硬胶合板在几秒内失去结构完整性,木质楼梯完全不可用。
由 亚库斯达Akusta 保护的楼梯在火灾中仍能维持结构完整性,确保疏散或消防员救援安全。

- Toxic substances are released
Test #2
Top: Roofing (4mm/0.15”)
Middle: Akusta (2.5mm/ 0.08”)
Bottom: Polystyrene
Results:
- 2.5mm/ 0.08” of akuSta-Plast Fire Stop reduce the temperature from 1,200 0C to 200 0C
- Polystyrene starts burning at a much lower temperature than roofing. Thanks to akuSta-Plast Fire Stop the temperature remains far below the ignition point.

Top: Hard plywood board )20mm/0.8”)
Middle: Hard plywood board )20mm/0.8”) protected by Akusta (2.5mm/ 0.08”)
Bottom: Hard plywood board )20mm/0.8”)
Results:
- The unprotected hard plywood board loses its structural integrity within seconds. A wooden staircase would be completely unusable.
- A wooden staircase protected by Akusta could still be used during evacuation or fire fighters entering the building.
